Diving into prehistoric back ups has its consequences. Check out this photographic nugget I found while rummaging through my files of old. 8 years since this post-BMan excursion to Mono Lake, but it feels like a lifetime has whizzed by.

So we spent the weekend in Denmark, a fun escapade, jam-packed with activity. Believe it or not we managed to do some sightseeing around Copenhagen, and up in Elsinore we visited the Kronborg Castle. But that´s not the end of it, we also attended Sigurd´s confirmation party in picturesque Lejre, and managed to marry 2 of the 3 couples on the trip! That´s DK for you: love is in the air.
It was all mega-comfortable, in true Sigurdsson style: lovely hotel opposite Tivoli, beautiful meals and plenty of laughs along the way.
Main discoveries: 1_There´s more to DK than the little mermaid, the Danes are actually pretty stylish people: the ultra cushy swan chairs created by Arne Jacobsen at the hotel plus the Design Days exhibition confirm I’m not making it up.
2_they can´t get enough beer no matter what time of day, they guzzle. 3_they seem relaxed and flexible but do things properly at the same time. In clichéd terms they´re not as strict as the Germans and less messy than Spaniards. Nice combo. 4_They love to sing and give speeches at family gatherings: they take folk songs and change the lyrics to poke fun at whoever´s being celebrated. At Sigurd´s do we sang at least 6 songs andplayed a singing game. Apparently this was nothing in comparison to the norm.
What with the marriage and all I ´ll never forget Denmark, I wear their flag on my lapel and look forward to going back one summer to experience those looong days and millions of mini islands in the north.
