Posted by Administrator in : kraziness , add a commentso i went to see a cool movie called "el taxista ful" which means “the taxi thief” in catalan.
It’s a story about a 52 year old taxi driver who earns a living driving people around Barcelona. So far all is pretty normal, except for the fact that the cabs he drives are all stolen. He steals in order to work. How does one get to such an absurd situation? Is he a madman or a worker out of work who has been driven to paradox by the logic of the System?
The contrast between our protagonist and the Barcelonian squattetrs he encounters is quite comical, Jose is just a worker with no political agenda while his new found comrades proclaim excellent slogans like “Free Money”
All this reminds me that another catalan collective called yomango translated as “I steal” as a parody of the Spanish clothes manufacturer called Mango were recently interviewed in that canadian magazine, adbusters.
Maybe they’ll convince you.
